Next Saturday sees the opening of Vivid Fiction at MK Gallery in LA. This show includes an artist I adore Juno Mizuno. In her series of paintings entitled “Deranged,” she mixes adorable with grotesque in a unique style that has been called “Kawaii Noir.” Inspired by pop art, erotica, and Japanese horror films, her neo-psychedelic paintings depict cartoonish females with curvaceous figures in nightmarish circumstances.

Exhibition Dates: July 31 – August 28, 2010

TechoCRAFT at YBCA

TechnoCRAFT explores how the boundary between the role of the designer and the consumer is disappearing. I'll be checking out this one.
