Dave Kinsey has a show that opened last weekend and will be up through October 25, 2008 at the Alice Gallery in Brussels. Here's what Dave has to say about the exhibit:
"In this series of paintings I explore the chaos and consequence of modern culture and its effects on the human population in terms of personal voids, balance and the uniformity of the individual. I'm specifically interested in cultural adaptation and in perceptions of the necessities of survival, real and imagined. I present the figure in a fragmented form to put emphasis on the disembodiment of our true identities using compositions in red to convey a sense of tension and blue to evoke a feeling of balance — in this context, I especially enjoy the fact that these are complementary colors."
